I can't connect my YouTube Channel to StreamYard

📍

To connect a YouTube channel to StreamYard, you must either be:

✦ The Owner of the channel
  ✦ The Manager/Owner of a Brand account.

If you are having trouble connecting your YouTube channel to StreamYard:

🔍 Check your Account directly on YouTube

  1. Navigate directly to your YouTube live dashboard here
  2. Click on your profile picture in the upper right corner.

  3. Click Switch Account.

  4. This will bring up the account selection menu. At the top, it will show you which email address you are currently logged into on YouTube, and the channels corresponding to that account.

Under Other accounts, you can see other email addresses you own, and their corresponding channels. Based on this information, when you are trying to add your channel, you will want to be sure you are choosing the right email address.

👈🏻 For example, if you want to add the "Puddles" channel, you should make sure to choose puddles@streamyard.com when adding your YouTube Channel.
If you choose to add "Puddles 2" then you will want to choose mysecondaccount@streamyard.com.

  5. If the channel you want to add says "You're a manager" underneath it, this means you are a manager on a channel that is not a brand channel. Therefore, you will not be able to add this channel as a destination on StreamYard.

You will need to move this channel to a brand channel OR have the owner of the channel add it as a destination to your StreamYard account. If you wish to check if your channel is a Brand channel refer to our dedicated article.

👈🏻  For example, you can see "You're a manager" under the channel "Stream Nation". This means you are a manager on Stream Nation, and it is not a brand channel. Therefore you will not be able to add Stream Nation as a destination to StreamYard.
If Stream Nation were a "Brand" channel, it would not say "You're a manager" underneath the channel name. It would simply appear as another regular channel option.

🔔 If you don't see the channel you want:

This means you are not logged into an account where the channel is registered. Click Add account and log into the correct account.

  4. Choose the correct channel to add it as a destination.

🔹 The option at the top with your email address displayed underneath is your personal channel associated with your email.
🔹 The other options underneath which say Youtube below the channel name) are the brand channels that you own or manage on this account.
🔹 Any channel which you manage (but don't own) that is not a Brand channel will not appear on this list.

Please note that sometimes, this channel selection menu can display old or out-of-date profile pictures and channel name information. This can happen if the channel details were recently changed.

🔔  If you receive an error message:

Please refer to the following article:  I'm getting an error message when connecting to YouTube.

🔔  If you still can't find the correct account:

Try adding all available channels from that list one by one to your StreamYard account. You will likely find that adding one of the channels that appears to be incorrect actually connects to the right channel in your destinations tab.
Once you've added the right channel, you can remove the unwanted ones by clicking the three dots to the right and then clicking Remove
