After you complete a stream on YouTube, it is archived on your channel for later viewing, editing, or downloading. StreamYard lets you download your live stream (on the paid plans) but there may be times you also want to download your stream from Youtube as well. This can come in handy if you hit your 50 hour recording limit in StreamYard, or are on the free plan. It also functions as another point of backup, in case any issues occur on your other destinations.
How To Download A Previous Stream From YouTube
-
Head to your YouTube Studio and click “Content” on the left hand side.
-
In this tab, select “Live” next to “Videos."
-
Click on the three dots (Options) next to the stream you want to download.
-
Click "Download" and your live stream will start downloading to your computer!
Note:
- YouTube only archives streams that are under 12 hours long.
- It can take some time before your stream is ready to download from YouTube
