Troubleshooting camera issues
Having Camera issues can come from different Variables, including Studio settings, Browser Settings, or Device Settings. Here is a comprehensive guide to troubleshooting Mic Issues.
-
Is the correct camera selected? Click on Settings > Camera at the bottom of your StreamYard studio to make sure the right device is selected from the dropdown menu.
- Test your camera on a different site. Does your camera work here? If not, this may be an issue with your device or browser.
-
Browser permissions. Ensure that your browser has the necessary permissions to access your camera. Check instructions for Google Chrome and Firefox. Or, reset your Camera Browser Permissions directly on the browser as show below:
-
Chrome
- Enter the studio.
- On the "Let's check your camera and mic" page, click on the View Site Info button (Camera Icon) located at the beginning of the URL bar.
- Click "Reset Permissions".
- Exit the StreamYard studio completely.
- Re-enter the studio.
- When prompted, click "Allow while visiting this site" to grant microphone access.
-
Firefox
- Enter the studio.
- On the "Let's check your camera and mic" page, click on the Camera Icon button located at the beginning of the URL bar.
- Click on the X next to the "Use the Microphone" section. (This will make StreamYard lose access to your Mic and Camera)
-
If after the applying the above you are still having issues, and your mic isn't working, check if another program (e.g., Skype, Zoom) is using it and close those apps. Try switching between Google Chrome and Firefox, restart your browser, and reboot your device, as this resolves most issues. Disable any extensions that may interfere with StreamYard, and ensure your webcam drivers are fully updated for Apple or Windows.
