Using the People Tab in StreamYard

The People Tab is a powerful tool available to Hosts and Co-hosts in the StreamYard studio. It gives you a quick and easy way to manage your guests' audio and video settings all in one place, perfect for helping your guests set up during a live stream or recording.

What Can You Do With the People Tab?

The People Tab allows you to manage each guest's setup without needing to ask them to adjust their own settings. Here’s what you can do:

  • Automatically adjust volume – Enable auto volume leveling on or off
  • Mute mic – Mute the guest’s microphone
  • Enable/disable camera – Turn the guest’s camera on or off
  • Edit name – Update the guest’s display name
  • Edit avatar – Change the guest’s avatar if their camera is off
  • Private chat – Send a direct message to the guest
  • Kick from studio – Remove the guest from the studio
  • Ban from studio – Prevent the guest from rejoining

Why use the People Tab?

If a guest is having trouble with their mic or camera, the People Tab gives you the tools to step in and help, no screen sharing or long explanations needed. It's especially useful when:

  • Helping guests that are unfamiliar with StreamYard get up and running quickly.
  • A guest’s mic is too loud or muted
  • Their camera is turned off
  • You need to quickly remove or block someone from the Studio
