In order to use your external microphone with an iOS device, it must be:
- Compatible with smartphones
- Connected by a 3.5mm TRRS AUX cable. To make that connection you will need a AUX to Lightning adapter. This allows the microphone to be registered as a "headset microphone" which can be used with StreamYard in mobile Safari.
AirPods and wired headphones with microphones will work with StreamYard on all iOS devices. Other external microphones cannot currently be used with StreamYard on iOS devices due to browser access limitations.
Note: iOS does not allow you to switch between multiple Bluetooth audio devices while a browser session is active. You can switch back to the iPhone's internal microphone during a live stream, but you cannot switch directly between two DJI transmitters once the broadcast has started.
If you want to use a mic which connects via USB/XLR, we recommend using a laptop or desktop computer instead.
