RingCentral Events, formerly known as Hopin events, provides an option to use a StreamYard studio to produce your Events!
This allows you to easily use StreamYard's production features in your RingCentral events and meetings without needing to integrate your StreamYard account in any way.
š To connect your Ring Central Event check our dedicated article Stream to a Ring Central (Hopin) Event.
To enter the StreamYard Backstage in my RingCentral event, log into your RingCentral account and enter your RingCentral event. On the lefthand menu click Venue -> Stages. Then, on the far right of the page, click to Edit your stage. Once inside, scroll down until you see this:Ā
Ā
You can enter the Backstage immediately by clickingĀ View StreamYard Backstage. Or, you can copy the backstage link by clickingĀ Copy Link and saving or sending it to guests.
Another easy way to access your Backstage link is from the Overview section of your Hopin event. Copy the Broadcast Studio link, and open that in a new browser tab.
šš» Streaming and Studio Management
Once youāre ready to go live, enter the studio and click the āGo Liveā button in the top right corner of the studio. You can go live and end the broadcast as many times as youād like using the same studio.
Please note that you can't multi-stream when using StreamYard Backstage through your Hopin account. To do so, you can head to our StreamYard.com to learn more about multi-streaming from your StreamYard account.
What device/software is required to use StreamYard?
If your setup works with Hopin, it should work well with StreamYard.Ā
- On Windows, MacOS, and Android, use Chrome or Firefox.
- On iOS, Safari is required.
After the stream ends, you can download your recordings on Hopin directly. Hereās how.
ā ļøĀ If you're having an issue with Ring Central Events, you can reach Ring Cental via their help center here.Ā
Ā
šš» Managing Guests
You can have up to 10 people on screen and in the studio at one time. To invite them, send the Broadcast Studio link to your guests/speakers.
You can also exchange messages with your guests/speakers by using the Private Chat in StreamYard Backstage to communicate with guest speakers before/during the show.
If you and your guests want toĀ return to the Ring CentralĀ Event, just click the Return button at the bottom of the studio and you will be brought back to your Event.
Ā
šš» Branding, Graphics, and Video Management
You can add logos, backgrounds, and video clips in the Brand tab on the right side of the studio.
- If you wish to add lower thirds/banners click Banners > Create a Banner. You can add up to 50 banners per banner folder and you can have up to 15 banner folders for a total of 750 banners per event.
- If you wish to add captions, just enable "Auto captions" in the organizer dashboard in your Hopin event.
- If you wish to share Event Chats from RingCentral on screen, you can click on comments to show them on screen. It is not automatic, you manually need to click to display each comment you'd like to see on screen.
To organize your branding assets and graphics from stage to stage, you can use the Brand Folder option at the top of the brand section to create a new folder for graphics. This allows you to separate your graphics from each studio if needed. Most organizers only use one Brand Folder so the graphics they upload are available to use on all stages.Ā

FAQs
šĀ How do I share pre-recorded videos?
- Inside the studio, click the Share button (this used to say Share Screen).Ā
- Click Video file, then select the file from your folder on your computer (MP4 and MOV files). It will automatically be added to the stream (unless you disable this in settings). You can pause, play, scrub through it, and change the layout!
There is NO file size or length limit!Ā
šĀ Can I share my screen? Can my guests share their screen?
Yes! Click Share at the bottom of the studio, then click Share Screen. Your screen share does not count as a participant in the studio.Ā
šĀ What is the difference between āVideo Clipsā and āShare > Video Fileā?
Video ClipsĀ are uploaded to and played from StreamYard servers, and are limited to 200MB in size or 10 minutes in length. Video clips are played full-screen, on top of every other layer (aside from banners), and mute all participants by default (they can un-mute themselves).
Local Video File Shares are streamed directly from your computer, and can be unlimited length and unlimited file size! You can scrub through the video, pause/play, and adjust the volume of the video right in the studio. For optimal quality, we recommend having a great connection to the internet (ethernet preferred).Ā
