Chrome now has live captions available for all audio content! This means that you can see live captions of what everyone else in the broadcast studio is saying, right in your browser, with no additional configuration.
These captions also work when viewing streams/videos on any platform, including Hopin, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, and more
Note: these captions are for viewing only, and unfortunately can't be incorporated into or shown on the actual stream.
How to Enable Chrome Captions
- First, make sure you're at least on Chrome version 89 or later.
You can check your version of Chrome by clicking the 3 dots in the top right, click "Help", and click "About Google Chrome".
It'll show the version like this; if there's an update, it's recommended to allow it. - In the top right of Chrome, click the 3 dots, and click "Settings".
- Search "caption", and enable "Live Caption".
Note: This has to download language files initially, so it may take a few minutes to enable the first time. - That's it! Now, whenever someone speaks in StreamYard, you should see captions appear on your screen.
