Create a LinkedIn Live Event

LinkedIn Members and LinkedIn Pages that meet LinkedIn's live streaming criteria will immediately be able to stream.
👉🏻  If you don't have access even though you meet the criteria, try creating a live stream event to LinkedIn through StreamYard by following the steps below. This will trigger an automatic review and, if you meet the criteria, you will be able to create the event and stream successfully.

When creating a LinkedIn Live Event through StreamYard, we recommend scheduling your stream ahead of time since a post will be generated on LinkedIn that you can share via email or other platforms before the stream starts.
LinkedIn users also see a "Remind Me" button that they can click to RSVP. This feature is available for LinkedIn Profiles and Pages.

How to Create a LinkedIn Live Event

Please follow these steps to create a LinkedIn Live Event:

1. 1. Connect your LinkedIn Page or Profile in the destinations section of your StreamYard dashboard.
   2. Go to the Home page and click Create > Live stream, and select the LinkedIn Page or Profile where you'd like to stream to.
      
   3. Check the Schedule for later option and select the time. For more details, check the LinkedIn Schedule Restrictions.
   4. Click Create live stream.
      This will generate a post on LinkedIn. You can see this post by clicking the 3 dots on the right, and selecting "View on LinkedIn".
      
   5. When you're ready to go live, enter the studio, add yourself to the stage, and hit Go Live!

❗️ Please remember that LinkedIn doesn't support editing the stream details through StreamYard.
If you need to make a change, you must delete the scheduled stream on StreamYard and create a new one. This is to avoid timezone issues since LinkedIn is defaulted to UTC. Any changes made directly on LinkedIn will affect your start time on StreamYard.

🔗 Creating a new live stream on StreamYard will result in a new LinkedIn Live event being posted, and a new link to the stream will be generated.

• If you already shared the link to the old event, you'll need to share the one connected to the newly created event.
• Alternatively, you can edit the details of the event on LinkedIn and then create a new stream by connecting to the existing LinkedIn Live event. Check the steps in the dedicated article: Connect an Existing LinkedIn Live Event. 
  
  

Schedule Restrictions

• You can schedule a minimum of 1 hour before your stream.
• The scheduled live time is displayed in the user’s local time.
• You can go live up to 15 minutes early.
• You can go live a max of 2 hours late. If you miss your stream (over 2 hours late) the post will update to say “cancelled” and no notifications will be sent out.
• You can schedule up to 10 LinkedIn live events per day.
  
  

Linkedin Live Registration

⚠️  When creating a LinkedIn Live event directly through StreamYard, registration will be disabled by default.

To enable registration for your event, you need to schedule the Live Event directly on LinkedIn first, and then connect StreamYard to the event after following the instructions in the dedicated article: Connect an Existing LinkedIn Live Event. 

Registration for LinkedIn Live Events is only available for LinkedIn Pages and not Profiles.

FAQs

🔍  I uploaded a thumbnail in my stream but it doesn't appear on LinkedIn.
If you don't see the thumbnails that you uploaded for your LinkedIn Live Event, it might be related to a known bug on LinkedIn. To solve the issue, you can edit the thumbnail directly on the LinkedIn event. 🔍  Can I stream to multiple LinkedIn Profiles and/or Pages?
LinkedIn does not support multi-streaming to multiple LinkedIn profiles and/or pages, but you can stream to one LinkedIn Profile or Page alongside other platforms (i.e. YouTube, Facebook, etc..).
