⚠️ On June 10th, 2024, Meta launched new requirements that must be met before an account can go live on Facebook:
- The Facebook account must be at least 60 days old
- The Facebook Page or professional mode profile must have at least 100 followers
StreamYard makes connecting your Facebook Page to your account easy and simple. In most cases, all you need to do is head over to your destinations tab, click Add a Destination, and then Facebook Page, and select your page from the list that appears there! Sometimes, your page will not appear as an option for you to choose. There are a few possible reasons for this:
1. Incorrect Permissions
To connect a page, first make sure you are an “Admin” on that page. Only page admins can stream to a Facebook page. Not sure what your role is? Click here to find out.
2. You’re logged in to the wrong Facebook profile
On facebook.com, you must be logged into the profile that is an admin of the page you’re trying to connect. Click your profile picture icon in the upper right hand corner, and double check to make sure you are logged into the correct profile.
3. You haven’t granted permissions for the specific page
When first connecting to Facebook, StreamYard asks for a number of permissions. You may have clicked Choose what you allow, which lets you choose which pages StreamYard can access. If you turn off access to any pages, StreamYard won’t have access to them or any new pages you join AFTER connecting to StreamYard. In this case, you’ll need to reauthorize Facebook.
4. Your page is a Facebook Profile or Group
Facebook Profiles are different from Facebook Pages and Groups! Head back to the destinations page and choose the "Facebook Profile" option instead. A profile is a personal page and will usually be your first and last name.
How do you know if you have a Profile, Page, or Group? If you have "friends", it's a Profile. If you have "followers", it's a Page, and if you have "members" it's a Group.
