On August 29, 2024, we introduced three new subscription plans: Core, Advanced, and Teams. Each new plan comes with its own unique perks, including brand-new features. These plans have replaced our legacy, non-business subscription offerings: Essential, Starter, Basic, Professional, Premium, and Growth.
You can read the entire announcement on the StreamYard blog.
Here’s how this change will affect your StreamYard experience:
Starting on August 29, all our current StreamYard non-business customers will be transitioned to the new plans. In each case, customers will be moved to the plan that gives them equal or greater features:
- Customers on Essential, Starter, and Basic plans will be transitioned to Core
- Customers on the Professional plan will be transitioned to Advanced
- Customers on the Premium or Growth plan will be transitioned to Teams
- Free users will remain on the Free plan
- Business customers will remain on their custom Business plans
New features and functionalities
With the new paid plans, we’re introducing several new features designed to elevate your StreamYard experience. Our Core and Advanced plans also include existing features that were formerly only available in higher-cost plans.

Business customers will also have access to all new features, including Reusable studios, 4K local recordings, 1080p screen-sharing, Camera shapes, and Dark mode.
Accessing the new plan and features
- We’re transitioning non-business customers on a rolling basis: everyone will be moved to their new plan between August 29 and September 28, 2024. We’ll send an email confirming that the transition has taken place and sharing more details about your new plan.
- Once you've been switched to a new plan, you'll have access to all the included features immediately. Any associated pricing changes will only go into effect upon your next renewal date.
- Business customers will remain on their current plan and get access to new features immediately.
- If you’re satisfied with the proposed plan, no further action is required. As always, you can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Account Settings.
Frequently asked questions
Why are you introducing new plans?
Not counting our Free plan, StreamYard previously offered six separate non-business subscription options, many of which had overlapping benefits. This made it difficult for customers to figure out which plan was best for their needs. By simplifying our offering to three distinct plans, we make it easier for new and existing customers to select the StreamYard experience that’s best for them.
When will I be moved to my new plan?
We’re transitioning non-business customers on a rolling basis with the goal of moving everyone to new plan by September 28, 2024. Keep an eye out for an email from StreamYard alerting you of the change.
Can I switch my plan right away?
Unfortunately not. While we appreciate your eagerness to try your new plan, transitioning all non-business accounts is a delicate process. For this reason, we’ll be following the pre-set roll-out schedule, which will occur between now and September 28. You’ll be notified via email once your new plan is enabled—from then on you can explore everything your new plan has to offer!
Can I switch to another plan (not the one automatically assigned)?
You’ll be welcome to try a different plan after the transition has taken place. Once you receive the confirmation email, you can manage your subscription directly in your Account Settings.
Can I keep my legacy Essential/Starter/Basic/Professional/Premium/Growth plan?
No—with the introduction of our new plans, all legacy plans will be discontinued.
Where can I see the price of the new Core/Advanced/Teams plan?
Log into your StreamYard account to check the pricing page for the prices of our new Core, Advanced, and Teams plans.
When will I have access to the new features?
You’ll have access to all the new features once your transition to your new plan is complete. We’re transitioning non-business customers on a rolling basis with the goal of moving everyone to new plan by September 28, 2024—keep an eye out for an email from StreamYard alerting you of the change.
