Pin a chat message to the On-Air Live Chat to bring viewers' attention to an important message that was sent or even share a clickable URL. This can be done inside the studio and once pinned, it will be shown at the top of the chat area inside the studio and on the watch page. It also works if you have embedded your webinar with the chat enabled!
This feature is available on the Advanced Plan and higher.
How to pin an On-Air chat message
To pin a chat message, you must be logged in as an account owner, admin, or creator.
- Enter the studio for the On-Air stream and send a chat message.
- Hover over the message and click on the three dots.
- Click on Pin to On-Air chat to pin the message to the top of the chat.
Here's how it will look for your viewers! If a link is included, viewers can click on it from the pinned message! The pinned message will be highlighted based on the color palette that you selected in the branding section of the On-Air settings.
- To unpin it, simply hover over the message once more, click on the three dots, and click on Unpin from On-Air chat.
FAQs
Can viewers remove a pinned message from their end?
Yes! Viewers can hide the chat message by clicking on the icon that resembles an eye. If you would like to see the hidden message again if it is still pinned, simply refresh the page.
Does it work for hosts and viewers using mobile devices?
Yes. Viewers watching from mobile devices will be able to see and interact with the pinned On-Air comments and hosts can pin comments inside the studio on mobile devices.
This feature is not supported on the iOS guest app.
Is this feature available if chat is disabled?
No, this only works if Live Chat is enabled for your On-Air stream.
Does this work for other destination comments such as YouTube or Twitter?
No. The feature only works for On-Air streams and comments from the On-Air chat.
Can more than one chat message be pinned at a time?
Only one On-Air chat message can be pinned at a time. You can pin and unpin as many messages as you would like to though!
Can messages be pinned to the chat before the webinar begins?
Yes. You can enter the studio to send and pin a chat comment before the scheduled start time or before going live. Viewers can only access the watch page and the chat 10 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Can cohosts pin On-Air chat messages as well?
Not at this time. Only account owners, admins, and creators can pin messages.
