My YouTube Channel isn't Appearing as an Option to Choose to Connect to StreamYard

In order to connect your YouTube channel as a destination to StreamYard you need to be the Owner of the channel and make sure you log into the correct account that the channel is associated with. If you are a Manager of the channel, you cannot add the channel as a destination to StreamYard (unless it is a Brand channel).

Having trouble connecting your YouTube channel to StreamYard? Here are a few things to try:

Check your Account directly on YouTube

  1. Navigate directly to your YouTube live dashboard here
  2. Click on your profile picture in the upper right hand corner.

  3. Click Switch Account.

  4. This will bring up the account selection menu. At the top, it will show you which email address you are currently logged into on YouTube, and the channels corresponding to that account. Under Other accounts, you can see other email addresses you own, and their corresponding channels. Based on this information, when you are trying to add your channel, you will want to be sure you are choosing the right email address.

For example- in the screenshot above, if you wanted to add the "Puddles" channel, you will want to be sure to choose puddles@streamyard.com when adding your YouTube Channel. If you wanted to add "Puddles 2" then you will want to choose mysecondaccount@streamyard.com.

  5. If the channel you want to add says "You're a manager" underneath it, this means you are a manager on the channel, and that this channel is not a brand channel. In this case, you will not be able to add this channel as a destination on StreamYard. You will need to move this channel to a brand channel, OR have the owner of the channel add it as a destination to your StreamYard account. More on how to find out if your channel is a Brand channel or not in our help article here

In the screenshot above, it says "You're a manager" under the channel "Stream Nation". This means you are a manager on Stream Nation, and it is not a brand channel- you will not be able to add Stream Nation as a destination to StreamYard. If Stream Nation was a "Brand" channel, it would not say "You're a manager" underneath the channel name- it would simply appear as another regular channel option.
  6. Don't see the channel you want to add listed here? This means you are not logged into an account on this browser that the channel is under. Click Add account and log into the correct account.

Check your channel options on StreamYard

  1. In order to add the channel on StreamYard, navigate to your destinations page, and click Add a Destination

  2. Click YouTube Channel.

  3. Choose the correct email address which corresponds to the channel you want to add. If you're not sure which email address that is, see Step 4 in the above section.

  4. Choose the correct channel to add it as a destination. The option at the top (with your email address displayed underneath) is your personal channel associated with your email address. The other options underneath (which say Youtube below the channel name) are the brand channels that you own or manage on this account.

Notice that "Stream Nation" does not appear here as a channel option for puddles@streamyard.com, even though it appeared in the channels listed on YouTube studio. This is because puddles@streamyard.com is a manager on "Stream Nation" and it is not a Brand Channel.
  5. Correct channel still not appearing? Sometimes this channel selection menu can display old, or out of date profile picture and channel name information. This can happen if the channel details were recently edited/changed. Try adding all available channels from that list one by one to your StreamYard account. You will likely find that adding one of the channels which appears to be incorrect, actually connects the right channel in your destinations tab. Once you've added the right channel, you can remove the unwanted ones by clicking the three dots to the right, and then clicking Remove
