On Windows, your browser (or all apps) may lose access to your camera or microphone.
Here's how to fix it:
Windows 10
- Open the start menu by clicking the start button, then search "settings", and click on "Settings".
- Click "Privacy".
- On the left sidebar, click "Camera".
- At the top of the page, make sure that under "Allow access to the camera on this device", it says "Camera access for this device is on".
If it does not, click "Change", and change the switch to On. - Under "Allow apps access to your camera", make sure the switch is set to On.
- Scroll down. Under "Allow desktop apps to access your camera", make sure the switch is set to On.
- On the left sidebar, click "Microphone".
- Repeat steps 4-6 for "Microphone".
Windows 11
- Open the start menu by clicking the start button, then search "Settings", and click on "Settings".
- On the left sidebar, click "Privacy & Security".
- Scroll down, and under "App permissions", click "Camera".
- Make sure "Camera access" is enabled.
- Make sure "Let apps access your camera" is enabled.
- Go back by clicking the back arrow at the top left of settings.
Scroll down, and under "App permissions", click "Microphone". - Repeat steps 4-5 for "Microphone".
